Senegalese singer, Akon who doubles as a US citizen is back in Uganda after a decade and some 3 years.
Touching down in the early hours of today, the award winning American artist landed at the Entebbe International Airport where he was welcomed by musician Eddy Kenzo and other Ugandans.

This is the second time Akon has come to Uganda with the first being in 2008 May when he came for a mega concert at the Lugogo Cricket Oval, fully funded by Celtel Telecom.
The concert in 2008 was held one week after the original date that had been set for it because Akon had missed his flight. When he finally arrived, he was accompanied by Nigeria's Psquare who were the curtain raisers of the show since they were still upcoming artists.

However, Akon was not happy with the Ugandan media at that time for portraying him as a bad person after failing to show up in Uganda on the concert's original date.
Akon coming to Uganda Rumours have been around since 2021 started
The singer in February this year was rumored to be jetting into the country on Valentine's day but instead, its his wife who came into the country at around that time.
The wife , Rozina Negusei met several dignitaries from Uganda including the President himself, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and this was to express her interest in investing about $12 Million in the economy of Uganda.
Rozina said Uganda has so many opportunities and that she was looking at investing into the agricultural sector, real estate and solar among others in order to close the gap between East African trade and the Western world.
