Apass says Eddy Kenzo pays organizers to nominate him for prestigious awards like Grammy Awards.
    • March 24, 2023 • 2 years ago

Eddy Kenzo is a celebrated International artiste. Ugandans are very proud that someone is raising their flag so high as to compete with International musicians at higher up levels such as Grammy Awards. Well, not everyone happens to believe that Eddy Kenzo truly deserves the titles he gets from these famous awards.

Alexander Bagonza, alias  A Pass has for the first time opened up about Eddy Kenzo’s nomination for Grammys a few months ago. During an interview with a local Television, A Pass revealed that regardless of Kenzo being one of the biggest artistes in the country, his love for awards is unmatchable and he would do literally anything just to gain an award.

    Apass

The  singer added that the ‘Grammy’ star can do whatever it takes to be nominated and recognized, even if it means selling his own soul to the devil. He went ahead and claimed that  Kenzo pays organizers to get nominations for different awards and it is not his music that has gotten him that far actually.

A Pass further said that currently, Kenzo has turned into a beggar for awards to remain relevant. However, he added that he understands why he does so but he personally doesn’t see any sense in paying for a an award nomination.

According to Apass, it would be nicer if the award organizers were to make their own research and find talented musicians themselves yet Kenzo throws himself at them.

    Kenzo

“If there’s any artiste who loves awards, it’s Kenzo. He does everything within his means to get his name nominated. For example, he files in his name and his preferred songs himself in AFRIMA Awards and paid to secure a nomination. Everyone can do that but me as A Pass, I don’t see any value in that. I do understand why people do that but I personally would like the award organizers to make research about me, not vice versa. He has now turned into a beggar for awards to remain relevant.” said Apass.
Kenzo has not come out with a statement about this yet but we await his say on the matter otherwise.
