The motto of our country states that "for God and my country" and one of the lines in our national anthem says, "we lay out future in thy hands." These statements prove that we're a religious nation who believe in God and we always have to look unto him.
With the current uncertainties in the country caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and also the ripe elections, the nation had had a number of Thanksgiving days and today was one of them.
While addressing the nation, former archbishop of the anglican church, Reverend Henry Luke Orombi urged Ugandans to maintain peace and also requested the political aspirants to have peaceful transitions of power lest the nation goes into a civil war.
" Ugandans can choose peace over violence and I believe we can have a peaceful transition of power. Let's be peacemakers because tomorrow our children will ask us what is our legacy." Said the former archbishop.
These statements left a number of people wondering what the Reverend meant by "peaceful transition" given the current regime seems so confident of retaining power while the opposition is sworn to overthrow it.
Over to you, what do you make of the reverend's words?
