For those who did a course unit in Makerere called Cost accounting , you must have come across a one Kitale Chris aka C.P.A.
Chris Kitale has been a lecturer at the college of Business and Management sciences where he has been teaching University finalist students that had recently come back to finalise with their studies.
He was admitted some two weeks ago at Mulago hospital with breathing complications and it is said he was on Oxygen for some time with severe complications. He unfortunately passed on on Saturday 28th November.
Here is what his fellow lecturer, Dr. Deus Muhwezi communicated shortly after his passing;
Its with great sadness that I announce the untimely death of my colleague and MUASA Treasurer CPA Chris Kitale. He passed on today in transit from the Cancer Institute Mulago to Paragon Hospital.
CPA Chris Kitale was an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Finance, School of Business, College of Business and Management Sciences, Makerere University.
He was a rising academic in the field of public accounting and finance. He has supported government and several institutions in Uganda in the same field. To many who did Bachelor of Commerce External, CPA Kitale was a great mentor and to MUASA he was a pillar. He particularly wished us to turn MUASA into a very productive association to its members and was pro strong and accountable public service.
CPA Kitale was also a MUASA Ambassador to the Makerere University Retirements Benefit Scheme (MURBS). At MURBS, he was an advocate of good governance and instrumental in ensuring its growth.
CPA Kitale will be deeply missed by the MUASA Fraternity. His departure is indeed a great loss to Makerere University and the Academic Staff Association that he loved so much. He joined the MUASA Executive in Feb, 2020 and was laying a strong foundation for the association's investments and savings.
I condole with his young family and may the good Lord protect them.
With too much sadness, may his soul rest in peace.
Deus Kamunyu Muhwezi (PhD)
