With Uganda Musicians Association's election getting closer on Monday 23rd May 2022, candidates for various positions are doing their best through campaigning so as to come out victorious.
Although many have chosen to keep campaigning around Kampala and on social media, there others that have chosen to go on ground allover the country to campaign with Musicians in their respective regions. Among those include Cindy Sanyu who is standing for President, Hanson Baliruno for Vice Presidency and Phina Masanyalaze who is standing for General Secretary.
The trio chose to move the all regions of the country to sell their ideas to musicians on ground. Kickstarting their campaigns in West Nile region, these candidates addressed UMA members from this region that gathered at Heritage park hotel in Arua city. While speaking to them, they each sold their ideologies and manifestos. With a rather general agenda, the trio fronted unity, inclusion and a push for an entire ministry for the industry among other things.
Cindy and Masanyalaze who have been part of the immediate past leadership of UMA asked West Nile artists to vote them back to office so as to accomplished the many projects they started. On the other hand, Hanson Baliruno informed musicians that he has previously served in the UMA Sacco and he now feels he needs to take on the mantle and join the main leadership so as to advocate for more great things.
The team that moved to Gulu City on Thursday afternoon for another campaign is expected to move to other regions in the next days as they keep campaigning.
