As promised yesterday, NUP party leader and presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine today appeared before the electoral commission.
Kyagulanyi, fully dressed in a bullet proof vest was accompanied by party spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi and other delegates.
After the meeting with EC Chairman Byabakama, Kyagulanyi addressed the press where he went on to spit fire and accused the current government of politicizing the Covid-19 lockdown.
"I take this opportunity to put it straight to the EC chairperson that when we were illegally blocked from consultations, there was no Covid-19 it was the Public Order Management Act.
Now, it is Covid-19 that has bean weaponized. We have come to believe that this is a scripted agenda against us." Said Robert Kyagulanyi.
It should be noted that Kyagulanyi was summoned by the EC last week over issues of breaching Covid-19 rules during campaigns and was meant to appear before the committee yesterday which didn't happen.
