When it comes to performing at various events, one of the most rare musicians could be Black Market Records CEO Daddy Andre. He is rarely seen holding a microphone and performing for revelers at events, something that got many music critics wondering whether Andre chose not to perform on stage or there is an unknown problem.
Well, here is the answer for everyone who has been pondering over this. Daddy Andre says that he performs less on Ugandan stages because his aim is to represent Uganda on the international level, something he has set out to achieve.
It is undeniable that Daddy Andre has some of the most listened-to songs among Ugandan artists. His music is sweet to the ears and of course his fans love it. However, he is rarely seen performing live on different stages and concerts and his fans have often raised the concern, wondering why.
The producer, songwriter, and singer, claims it is his own will not to make himself common while performing on stage because he regards Uganda as his home and his aspirations are to perform abroad on an international level. He further said that he cant equate himself to a celebrity here in Uganda because he even performs for free sometimes.
“I mostly perform abroad where I know a typical Daddy Andre fan is yearning to watch me perform. Here in Kampala I actually do not even carry myself as a celebrity because this is like my home. Sometimes I even perform for free here in Uganda. I was born to be international. I don’t like live stage performances in Uganda,” he stated
