News has it that the Uganda National Musicians Federation president Eddy Kenzo has reportedly reportedly sabotaged fellow singer Carol Nantongo’s performance hence causing a huge rift between the two musicians’ managements.
It was last week when Eddy Kenzo and Carol Nantongo were lined up to perform at an event in Eastern Uganda. According to intel, Carol Nantongo reached the venue earlier than Eddy Kenzo and she got ready to take on the stage.
Unfortunately, when Eddy Kenzo arrived, his team revealed that he had to perform immediately as he had to return to Kampala on time, leaving Carol Nantongo hanging. It is alleged that Kenzo's team pleaded with Carol Nantongo to only perform one song and give Kenzo the stage, then later she could return on stage and finish her performance.
Upon agreement, Nantongo stepped on stage but when she stepped on stage, she wanted to perform more than one song, something they couldn’t agree with. Since both Carol Nantongo and Eddy Kenzo’s respective Djs wanted their artists to perform first, confusion and competition broke out at the DJ’s box.
This battle was not so easy to relinquish because in order to calm the two parties, the event management intervened to restore peace at the event, and Eddy Kenzo proceeded with his performance as Carol Nantongo awaited her turn in her car.
