    • January 11, 2021 • 4 years ago

Uganda will in Thursday 14th/January2021 vote for the next president and members of parliament for the next five years. This election will go down in history as one of the most followed, especially by the biggest percentage in the country that's the youths.

It also saw the nomination if the youngest presidential candidate in the history that's John Katumba(24years). However, it has come with a lot of chaos, loss of lives, improvement and all other sorts of injustices.

Recently the electoral commission chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama came out and warned voters to desist from riots and also keeping around polling stations after casting their vote.

He also said only a few registered journalists will be allowed to capture the voting process and he went on to also warn people against using their gadgets to record the proceedings.

On Saturday 9th/January however, a document signed by the chairman was released on the electoral commission social media handles and it had some adjustments to the previous restrictions.

Among the adjustments made, the unaccredited journalists are also allowed to cover the voting and voters are also allowed to use their gadgets but outside the marked off areas. This news came as a relief to the opposition supporters who were saddened by the initial restrictions.
