Kampala woman Member of Parliament Hon. Shamim Malende has earlier today informed the public about the condition of fellow MP Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya, who's currently detained in Luzira Murchison Bay prison.
Ssegirinya was meant to appear before the Buganda road court over the Masaka murders charges but but couldn't because he's critically ill. About two days back, Ssegirinya was rushed to Mulago hospital for treatment due to his illness persisting.
One of the police guards at the prison stated that Ssegirinya is still hospital and couldn't make it for the hearing. The Kawempe North MP is expected to return to court on 15th/November/2021, with hopes of being granted bail.
Amomng the reasons why Ssegirinya's lawyers are filing for bail, health is one of them. There however still unseccessful given the judges also using the same reason to deny Ssegirinya bail, that his illnesses don't need being flown out of the country but can be treated from here.
Parliament on the other hand came out to say that it'll make sure Ssegirinya receives paramount health care services, even if it means being flown out of the country. "Who is fooling who?" That's a question whose answer can only be told by time.
