Housing Finance Bank Uganda has come out to clear its image in the eyes of the public after social media was awash with partially true stories of one of their employee's murder and misconduct.
In a press statement released yesterday, the Bank said that it is true, Ivan Kituka a senior manager at the bank was involved in a romantic affair with one of the employees he supervises, although this was mentioned indirectly.
Meaning that on the side of Ivan's misconduct, the online stories are correct and it is also true that all staff at the bank received a letter written by a one Mr. Sozzi that appears to threaten Mr. Ivan Kituuka's life. Therefore the bank together with the lawful authorities is investigating the aspect of threat to life.
However, on the side of the romantic affair, the bank has also committed to investigate the case thoroughly since it has a zero tolerance policy for such conduct, reads the statement.
The bank also clarified that there was no loss of any life as alleged by the viral video showing Ivan Kituka being shot at. The video only had someone that resembled the Housing Finance Bank boss.
