Joshua Kimmich persists he is at ease with his future at Bayern Munich but is about to yet to hold talks over his written agreement.
Joshua Kimmich is out of contract in 2025 and has been heavily tied to big Premier League clubs like, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool as potential suitors.
"In general, my situation is very clear," Kimmich told the media after Bayern's 8-1 win over Mainz. "I still have over a year left on my contract. Nobody has spoken to me yet. That's why I'm very relaxed.
"Let's see what happens. For me, the most important thing is that I perform well, that I reach my maximum performance, and I can't influence the rest."
Kimmich's future was also put to Bayern director Max Eberl, who clarified that the club needs to figure out who will be their next manager before they can make a decision on Kimmich's contract situation.
"He is a very, very important and deserving player for Bayern Munich," Eberl stressed to Sky Sports.
"It will also depend on the new coach and how he sees Josh. At the moment, he is needed on the right of defence, where he is doing very well and is a great help to us. But Josh is also a player for midfield. He says he can play as a lone six. This a discussion that needs to be had.
"But I think a new coach can have different views and see a player differently. Basically, you have to wait and see."
Sporting director Christoph Freund also stressed his desire to hold talks with Kimmich.
"There will also be discussions with Jo, he played a really good game like he did on Tuesday," Freund said. "Jo is a really good footballer, a very important factor for our team."
Joshua Kimmich's current transfer value is between €42.3M and €70.5M. His last transfer was from VfB Stuttgart to Bayern in 2015. Bayern paid VfB Stuttgart €8.5M for him.
So far this campaign, Joshua Kimmich has managed to feature in twenty-nine matches in all competitions for Bayern Munich with one goal and four assists in Bundesliga, two assists in eight Champions League matches and one assist in the DFB- Pokal Cup in two matches respectively.
Kimmich also featured in the starting lineup for Bayern Munich yesterday against Mainz in which they win 8-1 at Allianz Arena. Kimmich managed to assist Leon Goretzka in the added time to make a final result (8-1) for the Bavarians.
