Following the recently concluded speakership election, or what one would call "vice replacing head" that saw former deputy speaker Jacob Oulanyah win his former boss, Rebecca Kadaga in a landslide victory.
The juice however goes down to party issues. Both Kadaga and Oulanyah are from NRM and as usual, the party chooses a candidate to represent it, this time round they opted for Oulanyah instead of Kadaga. This saw Kadaga run as an independent.
The "party" began from that point. Yesterday, NRM secretary Justine Kasule Lumumba was addressing media and hinted on the issue. "Hon Kadaga knows very well the laws governing our party. When we choose a candidate, every one has to consent on that, which she didn't and decided to run against the candidate we had chosen as an independent.
This obviously has consiquences among which include her being suspended, punished or expelled from the party." Said Lumumba. The NRM Central Executive Committee (CEC) is expected to sit today and discuss the future of the former speaker of parliament. Is this the end of the mighty Honorable or more is yet to come?
