    in summary
The Buganda King Prime Minister (Katikkiro), Charles Peter Mayiga, has stirred controversy by abruptly postponing a highly anticipated meeting with the leadership of the National Unity Platform (NUP). Originally scheduled for Monday, March 25th, the meeting was expected to include discussions with NUP principal Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu (Bobi Wine) and Leader of the Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi. However, it was rescheduled last minute for Wednesday, March 27th, without explanation, fueling speculation about underlying tensions between Mayiga and the NUP.

Buganda King Prime Minister (Katikkiro) Owekitiibwa. Charles Peter Mayiga has sparked controversy by unexpectedly postponing a highly anticipated meeting with the leadership of the National Unity Platform (NUP), stirring speculation and raising questions about the motives behind the sudden change of plans.

Originally scheduled for Monday, March 25, the meeting was eagerly awaited, with a delegation led by National Unity Platform (NUP) principal Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu, popularly known as BOBI WINE and Leader of the Opposition (LOP) the Rt. Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi expected to engage in discussions with Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga. However, sources close to the situation revealed that the meeting was last minute rescheduled for Wednesday, March 27th at 11 am in Bulange, Mengo, Kampala.

The sudden postponement has left many puzzled, as it occurred without prior warning or explanation. This unexpected turn of events has fueled speculations about underlying tensions between Katikkiro Mayiga and the NUP leadership.

The timing of the postponement is particularly significant as it unfolds against the backdrop of escalating friction between Mayiga and NUP, exacerbated by the recent suspension of former Leader of the Opposition and NUP's parliament commissioner, Hon. Mathias Mpuuga, a stronghold of the Buganda Kingdom where he previously served as Youth Minister before joining elective politics.

Hon. Mpuuga's suspension, reportedly due to allegations of corruption and abuse of office, has further strained relations within the party.

Amidst these developments, Hon. Mpuuga on his side is expected to address a press conference today, Tuesday 10am at the Parliament Commission Boardroom potentially shedding light on the circumstances surrounding his suspension and the broader issues facing the National Unity Platform where he calls home.

For many, this comes as a coincidence for Mpuuga to first hold his press conference that in a way allows him explain himself and give his stand which will set pace for the NUP meeting with Katikkiro Mayiga as he would have heard stands of both parties in this matter

The growing divide between Hon. Mpuuga and the NUP leadership underscores deeper challenges within the party, raising concerns about internal cohesion and accountability.

As tensions simmer and speculation mounts, the postponed meeting between Mayiga and the NUP leadership assumes heightened significance. Many are keenly observing whether this delay will pave the way for reconciliation and resolution of differences or further exacerbate discord between the two parties.

With uncertainty looming over the outcome, stakeholders await the unfolding developments with bated breath, hoping for clarity and constructive dialogue to prevail in navigating the intricate dynamics between Buganda Kingdom's leadership and the NUP.
