Ministry of Health spokesperson Emanuel Ainebyona has of today informed the public about the 282 double cabin cars that the ministry procured in line with fighting covid-19.
The cars altogether cost Ugshs 23.9bn and according to Ainebyona, this is money that was collected by Ugandans through donation last year during the first lockdown. The money altogether was Ugshs 29bn.
The ministyhas of late been under fire from Ugandans asking what's being done in the fight against Covid-19. Ainebyona also said these cars are to be supplied across all districts in the country and they'll ease the movement of health material in the districts.
Out of the balI, Ugshs 3.3bn will be used to build a blood bank at Soroti Regional Referral Hospital well as Ugshs. 2.4bn will be used to build port health units at Cyanika and Vuwa.
Ugandans, as they never disappoint. Have come out to express their disgruntled feelings towards the move by Ministry of Health, many saying at the moment there are more important things to buy other than cars, giving example of oxygen cylinders, hospital beds among others.
Dear Ugandan reading this article, what's your view about this move by the Ministry of Health?
