After quite a while, with much emphasis put to other health hazards like Ebola, President Museveni has once again reignited the COVID-19 talk.
During his Friday night State of the Nation address, Museveni that Ugandans will have to show proof of COVID 19 Vaccination before accessing all government MDA's - Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
"The national task force reviewed the current Covid situation in country and made the following recommendations that should be adopted for implementation with immediate effect" Museveni said.
Among those include, a certificate of vaccination will be evidence for entry to formal meetings to public places. No one will be allowed to enter public places without an update certificate to show you have got two doses and a booster.
The move is intended to ensure mass vaccination of atleast 28 million people out of the population of over 40 million and avoid a flare up of the pandemic.
From the total of 48,897,520 doses of COVID 19 in the country, 26,281,281 doses have been administered to the population but 22,615,954 doses are still National Medical Stores.
