After almost a week since the opposition Members of Parliament stormed out of parliament led by their leader Hon. Mathias Mpuuga, the MPs have today returned to the August house following a meeting held a day ago.
The sit down protest was sparked off by the rearres of fellow opposition members Hon. Allan Ssewanyana and Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya of Makindye West and Kawempe North respectively.
While addressing journalists at the parliament premises, Opposition leader in the 1th parliament Hon. Mpuuga said the cause of their sitdown strike halt. "It is our responsibiluty as legislators to contiue with parliamentary business." Said the Nyendo-Mukungwe member of parliament.
Their return coincided with the passing of the Administration of Parliament amendment bill 2021, the first bill passed by the 11th Parliament.
