Today, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was sworn in as President of The Republic of Uganda for the sixth term.
During his speech, he noted that some categories of people have suffered enormously due to the pandemic.
He promised that they would be included in the budget that will be read in the month of June
"The performing Arts industry will get 600 million to help them and we shall soon open up for them to work again." He mentioned.
Certain artists like Pallaso have come out to request the President to give the money to the right people.
At the beginning of the year, 100 million shillings was given to the Ugandan Musicians Association (UMA) and this money only helped few musicians.
Musicians like Khalifa Aganaga even accused UMA of being unfair while sharing the money.
The money will be handed over to the leaders representing the performing arts industry
