Not very many people find it easy to make it to the top and Patrick Ssennyonjo alias Fresh Kid is one of those people. The fast rising young rapper shared his success story with Faridah Nakazibwe on her morning show, Mwasuze Mutya.
Fresh kid while reflecting on his story said him and his brother of his used to go to a one "Big up" club in Luweero to watch artists and at one point, Fik Fameica met him and was surprised at how good the young lad was with his lyrics.
"Fik was so impressed I knew his song lyrics and wanted to take me with him but my brothers refused. He gave me some money which I used to buy a bicycle." Fresh kid will be making 10years in June and said he's not sure whether he'll throw a party. "If I'm to have a party, me and my pals will celebrate with soad and Kikomando. I don't want to go to Rolex stalls because I'll cause attention." He told Faridah.
About his relationship with the dad Frank Mutabaazi, Fresh Kid said him and the dad are on good terms much as they both sing different styles. He furthermore stressed how Fik Fameica greatly inspired his music journey. "I was a very big fan of Fameica who used to call himself 'fresh bwuoy' and that's how I came up with the 'fresh kid's name."
Fresh kid is currently in p.4 at Kampala Parents'school and when asked how this came about, this is what he had to say, " Rajiv appreciated my talent and saw to it that I get education from a good school hence getting me a scholarship at KPS. He also gave me my very first phone, a Huawei."
Fresh kid has been hitting airwaves for close to three years with hits like 'Banteka, Bambi, Ebisanyusa abayaye' among others. The young rapper also recalled the highest amount of money he ever recieved and that was 600k. The money came from Sheila Gashumba and then boyfriend God's plan. The money was then used to clear Fresh Kid's car, Toyota wish.
