Media personality Sheilah Gashumba has finally come public to explain why she chose to stop hosting Tv shows.
For the past 10 years , Sheilah Gashumba has been one of the most established and celebrated female presenters in Uganda.
She has hosted several tv shows on various Television stations, with the most recent being NBS' After 5 show.
While there, she hosted the show alongside Mc Kats, Douglas Lwanga, Dvj Mercy and Dj Roja.
In February 2023, Sheilah Gashumba left the Naguru based station and she moved on to a new radio station in town, NRG Radio Uganda, where she is actually making her dream career on radio.
Gashumba, who now works with NRG Radio, where she hosts a show called Total Access every Friday from 7pm to 10pm, was replaced by Viana Indi.
The reason for her departure NBS TV was not made clear. In April 2023, she contemplated about returning on Tv screens but this won't be possible for the reasons she has stated.
Sheilah states that the conflicting musical preferences with her fellow hosts played a bigger part in her resignation from Tv work.
In a video clip seen by the reporter, the socialite went ahead to provide an explanation on her desire to leave a lasting impact whenever she undertakes a project. During that period, Joshua Baraka had just begun his music career, and Sheilah wanted the viewers to explore new sounds by featuring his music on the show.
Unfortunately, her fellow hosts and the show’s producer made it nearly impossible to achieve this goal.
Furthermore ,Sheilah expressed her frustration with the repetitive topics and music constantly addressed on the show, ultimately leading to her resigning from her hosting duties.
"Actually, there were three reasons, so I just decided not to do TV anymore. When I do things, I always want to leave an impact, which atmosphere I felt like not given. MC Kats is my friend, the DJs are my friends, but we were not on the same music thinking capacity, What I know about music is different from what they know, and of course, what they know is right to them and also what I know is right to me.”- Gashumba said in the video.
Recall that Sheilah Gashumba has been in the TV game since she was below 10 years, presenting from a young age to the 20's she is currently cruising in.
