While the general public is still enraged on the fact that governmet's priorities are poorly chosen, the deputy speaker of the 11th parliament, Hon. Anite Among yesterday came out lashing towards the covid-19 force. Hon. Among who seemed rather furious, stated that the money donated by Ugandans during the previous lockdown was poolry spent.
Ugandans donated over 29bn Ugshs, and this was not used until recently, when 23bn was used to procure 26 doublecabins. These, according to the Ministry of Health spokesperson Emmanuel Ainebyona, were to be distributed to all district headquarters and are to help with smooth transportation of medical aid.
This however didn't satisfying a reason to the deputy speaker, who said that district headquaters have a number of government vehicles, like that of the CAO, DEO, DHO, RDC among others and wondered why these were not used to transport the medical facilities. In her submssion, Hon Among stated that the money would have instead been used to buy food for the vulnerable Ugandans.
