The Forum For Democratic Change (FDC) has urged the ministry of education to develop a national policy on learning institutions as plans to re-opening of tertiary institutions bear fruit today.
While addressing journalists, the party spokesperson Hon. Ibrahim Ssemuju Nganda requested the ministry to allow students who've refused vaccination to study online, aince the refusal to vaccinate was their own choice.
"Students who refused to be vaccinated should be encouraged to attend lectures on zoom because it will be their choice not to be vaccinated. Museveni and his dear wife should develop a clear plan of helping children from poor families with tuition." Said the Kira Municipality MP.
He also expressed concern over academic policies put by these institutions which according to him are discriminative towards earners coming from poor backgrounds. "Some universities do exams on arrival. And if there's going to be exams on arrival some parents may not be able to afford since many pay tuition in installments." he added.
The party has also demanded that universities should have vaccination centers for students who up to today have not been vaccinated but are now required to attend class.
