The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has officially confirmed that the eagerly awaited Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results for the year 2023 will be released on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 11:00 am. The announcement comes following the board's successful securing of an appointment to brief the Minister of Education and Sports, First Lady Janet Museveni.
A senior official from UNEB revealed that the briefing with the Minister of Education is scheduled to take place at State House Nakasero, emphasizing the significance of discussing the performance of learners before the results are made public.
In light of ongoing health concerns, education officials invited to attend the briefing have been directed to undergo a COVID-19 test. The testing session is set to take place on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Mulago Platinum Centre from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, ensuring the safety of all participants during the critical meeting.
Jennifer Kalule, the spokesperson for UNEB, informed reporters earlier this week that the examinations body had formally written to Minister Janet Museveni, seeking an appointment for a comprehensive briefing before the official release of the PLE results.
Following the release of the results, the subsequent phase will involve the commencement of the selection exercise, determining the placement of students in different secondary schools across the country. This process is a crucial step in the education system, shaping the academic journey for thousands of students who have undergone the PLE assessments.
The education community and the public at large eagerly anticipate the results, as they play a pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape of Uganda. The emphasis on the pre-release briefing with the Minister of Education reflects the commitment of UNEB to ensuring transparency and effective communication in the examination process.
Parents, teachers, and students are advised to await the official announcement on Thursday, January 25, 2024, for the unveiling of the Primary Leaving Examinations results and the subsequent steps in the education sector.
