Uganda Medical Association (UMA) Executive distances self from Dr Oledo's act of Kneeling ad endorsing Museveni!

Following a viral video that made rounds on socialmedia over the weekend showing, Dr Samuel Odong Oledo kneel before President Museveni and begging him to contest again in 2016, a section of Uganda Medical Association (UMA) members want him to resign from being their Association president.

Edith Nakku, Oledo's Deputy and Herbert Luswata the association secretary say that he made remarks in his personal capacity and not that of the Association.

"Your excellency, thankyou. You have uplifted us( medical practitioners). We kneel before you after assessing that you are capable. We have assessed that you have the power. You have everything needed.  Help us contest again in 2026 and take us ahead as you secure our future. We want Uganda to reach where God expects it to be" Oledo said while kneeling, together with colleagues before Museveni.

The act happened at Kololo independence grounds on Saturday during the NRM Youth Patriotism Symposium.

The Association secretary said they earlier engaged Dr Oledo and asked him to issue a public apology in writing but he declined, an act that further infuriated Association members!

I think they were in need of reply from president to their issues, if mr oledo showed his happiness on behalf of his fellows, so what make them not being in mood?<br /> To say that, "medical workers are all opposition"<br /> Ian Muhoozi
