Trending social media star Shifrah, legally identified as Maria Gorreti was forced to shed tears of joy after receiving a generous gift of a brand new iPhone. or about two weeks now, Shifrah is the name on the lips of very many Uganda's internet users.
Shifrah attracted the attention of netizens after participating in a song challenge by upcoming singer D Star called Hoozambe.
In the viral video featuring Hoozambe free styling one of his songs, Shifrah could be seen sitting on his lap as she wines her waist.
The video quickly went viral on various social media platforms, even making its way to the DJ booth in local bars. The song has garnered millions of plays with thousands of creators making challenges out of it.
It has also already attracted some of the biggest stars in the region to do a remix of the song, the latest being Mudra whose version is also receiving good airplay.
However, after the viral went viral, Shifrah went off scene. Several people have been trying hard to reach her but all in vain.
In a recent interview with Sanyuka Tv, Shifrah shared that her phone was stolen by unknown individuals shortly after making the video, causing her a great deal of distress.
As a result, she had to use her brother's phone to secure work opportunities and appealed to anyone willing to help her by providing a new phone.
On Thursday afternoon, businessman Don Chris and media personality Maccona visited Shifrah's mother's home.
Don Chris surprised Shifrah's mother with a lot of goodies including bags of sugar, maize flour and many others.
Chris also presented Shifrah with a brand new boxed iPhone. Shifrah was overwhelmed with joy and tears of happiness streamed down her face upon receiving the thoughtful gift.
Meanwhile , the now popular social media sensation is currently nursing a broken heart after her boyfriend decided to end their relationship after seeing the viral video, leaving her single.
I was at work when the video was posted, and everyone was telling me about a trending video that I didn’t know about.It went so viral that when my boyfriend saw it, he broke up with me questioning why I had to sit on another man’s lap like that. I am now very much single and searching," Shifrah said while appearing on Sanyuka Tv on Wednesday evening, June 12.
