Moyes' future with West Ham United seems to be uncertain after the poor performance in the recent matches as potential replacements to take on his position have been looked at.
West Ham United was thrashed 0-6 by Arsenal on Sunday as this made their third loss this year in the seven games with four draws despite the fact fans were seen exiting the London Stadium at halftime in the Arsenal game as this showed they had lost hope for a come back.
The Hammers have just scored four goals of which the two were scored against Sheffield United, and the remaining goals were scored against Bristol City and Bournemouth one each respectively.
West Ham's poor performance is tied with Mohammed Kudus' absence through his participation at Africa Cup Of Nations and also the injuries of Lucas Paqueta and Jarrod Bowen who have been their crucial players has affected them negatively.
Besides those injuries, the Hammers decided to let go of Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals to Lyon in France and Real Betis in Spain respectively.
Moyes' stay at West Ham, has enabled him to achieve two consecutive top-seven finishes in the Premier League, before victory in the 2022–23 UEFA Europa Conference League, beating Fiorentina in the final to achieve the club's first major silverware in 43 years positioned him to extend his contract.
West Ham decided to let go of both Benrahma and Fornals of whom were neither first team players as this attracted Moyes to pick interest in the former Celtic winger Jota but this failed to progress because of the tax and wage issues, though the technical director Tim Steidten and sporting director Mark Nobel were more willing to buy Ibrahim Osman.
Steidten and Noble wanted to sign a player whom they could develop into a regular first team starter while Moyes was focused onto the here and now situation as pressure mounted him.
Osman is expected to join Brighton from FC Nordsjaelland in the summer transfer window as Ben Johnson was made to play on the left wing against Arsenal due to Paqueta 's and Antonio's absence.
Moyes' incumbent contract expires this summer as West Ham plan to replace him in case Moyes decides to leave which they consider normal.
Lille's head coach Paulo Fonseca, Graham Potter the former Brighton and Chelsea boss seem to be the potential replacements as Graham Potter highly wanted by the club and he is currently a free agent.
Steve Cooper is also being looked at after being sacked by Nottingham Forest although he had led the club back to Premier League after a long period.
Moyes said to the reporters after losing 0-6 to Arsenal that, "I look back and when I came in we had to try and avoid relegation, and we avoided relegation. The journey we've all been on in the last three or four years trying to qualify for Europe, getting to a semi-final, and you all know the good times we had in Prague about six months ago.
"That will not make people feel too much happier with today's result, but I think it's just important that we remember that those good times in football can also be bad times."
The Scot will hope the good times return in upcoming games against Forest, Brentford, Everton and Burnley - all fixtures his coaching staff and fans will perceive as winnable - and performance levels in those games, and in West Ham's imminent return to Europa League competition, could ultimately dictate which direction the club go in this summer.
