Today, Uganda swore in 131 Members of Parliament (MPs) at the parliament of Uganda.
The swearing in is taking place according to the alphabetical order of names of the MP elects.
During the event, an MP is allowed to be escorted by friends and family to the podium of swearing.
However, this seemed to expose some family drama and entertain guests today as one MP's two wives fought on the podium.
Polygamous MP elect for Soroti Municipality Hon. Atta Moses Okia brought both his wives to the event and walked with them to the podium
Time for him to swear in arrived and the two women started fighting and pushing each other infront of the cameras and invited guests.
Each wife wanted to stand in front with him and be recognized.
Things got nasty when a third party wanted to intervene since all this was happening live on camera and at a public event that should be respected.
An embarrassed Moses tried talking to wife number one telling her to "calm down and relax "
She did not take it well and boldly told him "I am also your wife."
Watch the video of the fight below.
Many Ugandans have seen this as embarrassing since the microphone was on and this confrontation was heard on the loud speakers by many.
Other MPs who haven't sworn in yet and may have many wives haves been advised to come with one wife.
This is to help prevent such embarrassing scenarios and save time at the swearing in.
Many other famous MPs such as Joel Ssenyonyi, Allan Ssewanyana and Rebecca Kadaga are to be sworn in the coming days
The swearing in event is to take four days.
Day one already brought us some family drama.
Who knows what the other days will bring to our eyes and ears!
