At the beginning of the last decade, Uganda's airwaves were ruled by a melodic voice of by then a big R&B star, Qute Kaye. With hit songs like Jinkese, Gwendota, Osindise asitamye ft Iryn Namubiru were some of the songs he released between 2010-2013.
However, things started going South and he went off scene until around 2019 when he was caught red handed stealing a car head light ????. He was later confirmed to be battling drug addiction and was seen recieving help from Maama Fina who also promised to revive his career.
A few days back, Kaye appeared in public and narrated how Drugs totally destroyed him and his music career. Talking about his lost dreams and glory, Qute Kaye said he is full of regrets.
He blames himself for messing up his own life. In an interview, Qute revealed that drug addiction destroyed his career and all his plans he had for his life. He is, however, hopeful that he can re-build despite the time lost.
“The thing that made me quit drugs and organize myself is believing in myself. I talked with myself, I now understand my potential. I was going to be a great artist, but I messed up everything, it hurts,” Qute Kaye explained.
The artist is now on a sensitisation mission and has started a foundation called 'another Chance." He has also released a new song in line with his sensitisation campaign.
