The country was earlier today caught in a situation of mixed reactions when the Uganda National Cultural Center (UNCC) released a post confirming that arts centers had been opened to work under strict SOPs between 7am-7pm starting on 19th December.
Immediately the ministry of health came out to say the information released was false and that all performance centers were still locked.
UNCC spokesperson Emma Carlos Mulondo has however come out to clarify on the information the organization released earlier today.
In a live phone call on Bukedde Fm's Kasensero top 8 countdown hosted by Simo Omunene womukibuga, Mulondo affirmed that it's the cultural centers that were released and these include theatres, cinema halls, art galleries among others.
He also said that these were allowed to operate between 7am-7pm amidst following of SOPs. The centers are to have strictly 200 people.
Emma Carlos went on to throw light on the 1.2bn shillings given to promoters by the government and said this is part of the initial relief money meant to be given to the arts fraternity and that the 2.2bn is to go to the young promoters whose capital is between 2m-12m.
Carlos also urged different creatives to register under different arts bodies if they're to share the relief money.
