A few days ago top Ugandan musicians, Fik Fameica and Eddy Kenzo brought Makerere University to a standstill as they entertained campusers at Uganda's oldest university.
It was last Friday when Eddy Kenzo the main act of the night stepped on stage when he performed almost all his hit songs like Semyekozo, Jubilation, Soraye and others.
In the middle of his performance, he introduced a surprise act whose names he did not mention only for the artiste to test his voice and surprise the students who were completely shocked to realise it is Fik Fameica.
Fik was not indicated anywhere on the poster advertising the fresher's ball unlike his counterpart Kenzo who was the known event headliner.
The two musicians went on and gave the audience at Makerere an energetic performance.
Given that the two are both former dancers meant more entertainment for the crowds unlike some Ugandan musicians I know who can barely shake a bone of their body when performing on stage (I won't mention names) okay just one name e.g. Chris Evans!!

The hugs were also endless as Fik and Kenzo could not believe the amount of love that was shown to them that day and Fik, especially couldn't stop mentioning how deep he appreciates his friendship with Kenzo as he performed.
Kenzo also appreciated Fik for coming through to perform at Makerere for free and on short notice.

Eddy Kenzo and Fik Fameica share a similar past
Kenzo and Fik Fameica in their childhood days all hustled in some ways. Fik who did not particularly suffer, used to reportedly vend second hand clothes in Owino.
Eddy on the other hand was a hard-core street boy having spent 13 years of his life hustling and sleeping on the streets of Masaka and Kampala, he is a true definition of from grass to grace.
Kenzo did not have a chance to attend proper schooling having lost his mum at the age of 4 and he only attended school using bursaries earned from playing soccer at Masaka Local Council FC and this made him drop out while in O' level at Lubiri Secondary School.
Fik Fameica on the other hand who has parents till date attended school all the way to A' level.
What happened after Fik Fameica's surprise
After surprising the audience and performing a few hit songs such as Buligita, Lov Lov, Mafia and others, he stepped off stage and left it for Kenzo to close the night.
Kenzo went on to rock the crowds until the time when he had to sing his last song, "Weekend". This is when Makerere students started acting up to have Kenzo make mention of a name of any of the halls of residence like the culture usually is in Makerere to indicate which hall is better than the other.
Feffe Bussi who had performed before in one of his freestyle raps mentioned "Lumumba" hall and this satisfied some of the lads who live there because when he mentioned it, the students cheered him loudly.
But Kenzo who allegedly didn't have an idea of the Muk culture of hall supremacy competition didn't make a mention of any of the halls and students around the stage instead had plans of joining him to perform such that they mention the halls themselves and probably force Kenzo to sing the anthem of one of the halls.
This is how fighting got intense just next to the stage as different hall factions clashed and the result was police firing teargas into the air and Eddy Kenzo's rush to safety whose speed made many people laugh, branding him as a coward.
