While the future of MAMAs Kampala is still uncertain, as the awards were postponed to an unconfirmed date, Cindy Santi has come out to confess that she's not dying to be nominated for the MAMAs.
The "king herself" as she calls herself, while appearing on Spark Tv, emphasized that she's a very big artist who's not in anyway troubled by missing out on the nomination. “I wasn’t angry that I was never nominated in these awards because I’m a very big artiste who doesn’t need MAMAs to speak for me.
I already won the AFRIMMA so I don’t need their nomination at any one point,” said the 'Boom party' hit maker. Cindy, who's the current vice president of Uganda Musicians Association (UMA), had a number of hit song and was among the many artists whose miss on nomination came as a surprise.
However, before the official postpoment of the awards, the dance hall artist had joined the many Ugandans who were calling for the awards to be postponed, stating that there more pressing issues in the country than the MAMAs.
"People don’t have food and you think they will be happy about MAMAs. They made it worse by bringing a foreign artist and calling our Ugandan artists just ‘Acts’. That never made any sense to me,” Cindy said earlier.
Many believe though that this was out of anger because the artist had missed out on the nomination. What's your view?
