Lost and found musician, Minayo has revealed the only people that are still supporting her musically.
In an interview last weekend, she said villagers are the only people listening to her music now.
Whatever happened to the town (urban) people, we don't know but she assured our reporter in a parking lot outside Los Angels Palace in Kawempe, that her audience had shifted from towns to villages.
She also said that since this is the case now, she will be performing more "mubyaalo" (in the Villages) because that's where her people decided to relocate themselves according to her.
What happened to Minayo
Minayo is still active musically although her name is not that vibrant as of today, given that she is also one of of those Ugandan musicians who takes excessive musical breaks.
While speaking to Calvin Da Entertainer last year in October, she said she does things at her own pace given that she has nothing to prove to Ugandans having been in the superstar limelight before.
Having made one of the biggest hits songs of 2011, titled 90 degrees where she featured singer Fidempa, Minayo took a musical break of about 3 years to concentrate on giving birth and rasing her family among other things.
She came back with "Kankwambale" in 2014 which did quite well on radios and TV stations in the country but she again struggled after that because of her management.
At that time she was being managed by Sam Iga who was also managing musician Desire Luzinda who was arguably Uganda's most talked about personality that year because of her nude scandal.
Minayo said that her manager tried to balance her with Desire Luzinda but however, things ran out of hand when Desire started to be over booked in other words having to perform at more than 5 shows in a single day.
So what is Minayo up to now
Well she is back on the music scene with another management known as Fenda Republic that has been pumping millions into her music career since the covid lockdown time started.
They took it a bit slow like every other artiste management because of the unprecedented bad pandemic times but still managed to oust some projects such as "Bamsakata" which was very promising, "Sitoma" and "Self Service".
