Six young and talented artists who decided to go by the title 6 Killaz came out and decided to do a collaborative song dubbed “kukyakala na kubwa", a song they expected to garner a lot of positive feedback but yet surprisingly garnered a few criticisms instead. The six artists including Nina Roz, Ava Peace, Nandor Love, Jowy Landa, Zafaran, and Recho Ray came together for a brand new project titled “Kukyakala Na Kubwa.”
Whereas they expected love flowing in for this project, not everyone was bound to show appreciation for their art. When the Six artists, who have always been known for their unique styles and beautiful voices joined forces to create this song, their aim was to come together, each showing their powerful individual talent while empowering each other as women in this Ugandan Music industry.
According to these ladies, there is a reason why there was no gentleman involved on this project and this is simply because this particular song aimed at breaking barriers and providing a platform for female artists to shine, as there has not been such a big collaboration between female Musicians in the Ugandan music industry for a while now.
Well, It was quite unfortunate that not everyone received this project well, as Prima Kardashi came out to call the song total rubbish, saying it was a waste of time and energy and in fact, everyone that collaborated on that song was slowly killing their brand by collaborating on such music.
Prima Kardashi took to her Facebook page, where she claimed it was rubbish and had no meaning. She stated that the song itself had no moral lessons and yet these young artists are meant to act as role models yet they are out here promoting immorality. Prima therefore suggested that artists should focus on creating music that sets a positive example for the younger generation instead of brainwashing them with immorality.
“I don’t despise the artists’ art, and neither am I chasing clout, but the song is absolute garbage. You can’t sing “kubwa” and oba kuffa in a generation where our children admire and look up to you as artists. The song is rubbish. Nze kyensobola okubagamba oluyimba lubi. Silina gwenvumye ateh sili sorry!” came Prima Kadarshi's posts.
Jowy Landa was the first to come out and clap back at Prima Kardashi, saying that the food she also sells for her Lusaniya is not delicious.
“N'ebimere byo tebiwooma.” She posted on her Facebook as well.
Nina Roz, who happens to be part of the group also came out to attack Prima Kardashi while defending their song. In an interview with Calvin The Entertainer on The Horizon show, she stated that she was utterly disappointed with Prima Kadarshi’s comments who is also a woman trashing fellow women who came together to create something.
According to Nina Roz, this is exactly what the collabo was meant to fight, the negativity towards women in the music industry but yet it is a fellow woman that came out first in a bid to put the song down. Nina never even cared that Renown blogger Peng Peng also came out to state that the song was rubbish but rather focused on their fellow woman who was trying to put them down.
According to Nina, Prima as a mother of two young girls shouldn’t have stopped so low as to demean their hard work
