Reduce the study time to one month - MP Ssemujju tells government
    • August 2, 2021 • 4 years ago

Kira Municipality Member of Parliament and Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) spokesperson Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda has advised the government to revise the education study time so it can fit in the new Covid_19 normal.

Hon. Ssemujju believes by the time the government gives a green light for schools to resume, the country will be battling the 3rd wave of Covid_19. He instead advised the government to consider cutting study time from 3 months per term to only one month and learners go for holidays.

It should be noted that during his address on Friday 31st/July, the president advised schools to remain closed until a good number of learners between the age of 12-18 years have been vaccinated. When will this be? The government probably knows better. In the meantime, thousands of schoolgoing girls are getting pregnant while others are sold off to marriages for pennies.

What do you think about Hon. Ssemujju's suggestion though? Is it applicable or learners should wait for government radios and  the vaccine?
