A total of 6000 Ugandans apparently recieved double the money meant to go to vulnerable Ugandans, according to reports. The famous 100k, also known as the "Nabbanja" money has since brought chaos among Ugandans. Almost three weeks ago, the prime minister Rt. Hon Robbinah Nabbanja launched the sending of covid money to Ugandans.
Over 500,000 Ugandans were identified as vulnerable and were each meant to receive Ugdhs. 100,000. As of now, close to 90% of the identified have recieved the money much as the news on ground rell a totally different story.1/10 people in most areas has recieved the famed "Nabbanja money."
While many remain uncertain if they'll even recueve a 'ka 10k', there apparently 6000 Ugandans who've recceived not once but twice the amount. While speaking to journalists, ICT minister Hon, Chris Baryomunsi admitted that a number of people recieved 200k instead of the 100k promised but went on to say that was a humanly error.
"The issue of 6000 Ugandans who recieved the Covid relief money twice was all due to humanly error. Like someone might have double clicked on the same person, This was observed with Airtel Numbers and posta." said the minister. With the government at a risk of losing close to 600m, many citizens are rubbing the whole idea off.
Do you believe it? Is it another "mafia" scam to swindle tax payers' money? Let's say it's true and the 200k landed on your phone, would you be a good citizen and refund the extra 100kor "luck knocks once?"
