The latest news in the Uganda Musicians Association's presidency race is Singer Bobi Wine endorsing King Saha.
Bobi Wine, who is a member of UMA turned into active politics some years back and today he head the biggest opposition political party in the land, NUP - National Unity Platform. Bobi Wine's endorsement towards King Saha has taken a whole new lot of chnage in the race, it has turned it political with King Saha currently taken as a NUP leaning candidate. With this development, one only asks where does this political affiliation leave Cindy Sanyu who is Saha's biggest opponent? will she officially lean against NRM to balance the boat?
It should be noted that H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the Ugandan President and head of the NRM political party is also an artist fondly remembered for his 2011 hit "Another RAP", How about Cindy runs to him for endorsement and her bid balances with that of King Saha whose bid was endorsed by another political party head?
Today is the day UMA electoral commission and policy board expects all artists on the executive leadership positions to take back their nomination forms for approval. Part of the requirements as they hand over their forms is a mandatory endorsement of 20 artists. King Saha is believed to have made the 20 with Bobiwine and Nubian Li being his final two endorsers.
