Kampala metropolitan deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire has come out to remind Ugandans that the Covid-19 rules are still in place and people are going to still be arrested if they're found on the wrong side of the rules.
Owoyesigire said this while addressing the press over the recent incidents related to breaking curfew rules. Over the weekend, around 100 Ugandans were arrested in areas of Nateete in bars past curfew time.
Another group of "party animals" were arrested last night in Iganga as well as a person in Nateete who was short by a yet to be identified person. These are all incidents happening past 7pm, which is the curfew time.
Owoyesigire went ahead and assured Ugandans that the police won't get tired of arresting them, if they don't desist from breaking the curfew rules. He also warned police officials who side with bar owners and take bribes to allow them operate.
