Wakiso district LC5 chairperson Matia Lwanga Bwanika is underfire from residents of Ssisa-Namulanda, over issues involving investors and the National Environment Committee(NEC).
according to the citizens, Bwanika and other district officials are threatening investors in utilising land in the area to set up infrastructure, disguising in the name of environment conservation.
"The government has totally failed to create jobs for youths countrywide and now investors are trying to create jobs, hte chaiperson is siding with the Environment Committee to chase away the investors." said a mob of angry reisdents of Ssia-Namulondo.
Chairman Bwanika however said the land in contention is not to be utilized by investors as it will affect the environment. This brings us to a question, If government has failed to provide jobs, who then gives these investors who 'provide jobs' the lee-way to operate in the country?
