"Can your MP even???" This is a slogan slowly gaining momentum from the people of Kawempe North constituency. For those who may seem bleek, this is the constituency of Hon. Muhammad Sseggirinya alias 'Mr. Updates'
Since his swearing in as MP, the NUP party representative has seen to it that he ofulfiils most of the pledges he made while campaigning.From encouraging his voters to start saving by introducing what he called "Segi Box", to serving relief food to the vulnerables, getting an ambulance, et al.
Kawempe North hospital is so far the biggest gift Hon. sseggirinnya has given the people of the constituency. According to him, the hospital is providing jobs to the residents and also saving lives of many who'd be fidgiting to recieve health care at other public health centres.
Having secured heavy machines to ease the health issues at the hospital, Sseggirinnya has, wait for it, promised 2Kg of 'Byenda' to every woman who gives birth from Kawempe North hospital. To those who seem lost, "byenda" is offals before being prepared and are normally given to women who have just given birth.
Should we start questioning our leaders? Should we sart envying people of Kawempe North? Is the division finally attaining the "republic" stature its citizens have been singing for ages? Let's watch the space.
